LYRICS:
These were three of my longest days
On my way to the altar
I brace myself
‘cause I know that the question
I’ve hoped to avoid will soon be asked:
“Daddy, where is the lamb?
I thought you said we came to sacrifice
What is this knife in your hand?
What do you know that I don’t know?”
I know that God has spoken
Though I don’t understand it in full
But His promises don’t return empty
He will do all He has said
He is able to raise the dead
I’m well acquainted with the eleventh hour
When voices within and without
Say there is no hope left
It’s not that I don’t tremble inside
As the word impossible goes through my mind
It’s just that I know He’s alive
And that He will surely provide
I know that God has spoken
Though I don’t understand it in full
But His promises don’t return empty
He will do all He has said
He is able to raise the dead
What we see when we look with our eyes
Must be sifted through faith
‘Cause I’ve been through enough to know
His arm is never too short to save
Who am I to question Him?
I must obey His commands
When it doesn’t make sense quite yet
That’s ‘cause we’re not done waiting for Him
I know that God has spoken
Though I don’t understand it in full
But His promises don’t return empty
He will do all He has said
He is able to raise the dead
This offering
Is Yours for the taking
No matter what may come
Your word is as good as done
I know that God has spoken
Though I don’t understand it in full
But His promises don’t return empty
He will do all He has said
He is able to raise the dead
